Hydrogen peroxide is best known as a wound disinfectant, but few people realize it can be a real all-rounder for household cleaning. Inexpensive, easy to find, and environmentally friendly when used correctly, it offers numerous alternative uses that can simplify life at home.
1. Whiten your laundry naturally.
Add half a cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide to the washing machine drum to brighten white fabrics and remove yellowish stains. It's a great alternative to bleach, gentler and less harsh on fibers.
2. Remove stubborn stains from fabrics.
For wine, blood, or coffee stains, apply a few drops of hydrogen peroxide directly to the affected area, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse.
